Gulnare

Anna Counts is second year student in the college, pursuing a major in International History and a minor in Germanic Studies. Before joining University Ballet in the autumn of 2006, she spent a year dancing with San Diego Ballet, where she premiered lead roles in Alice: Wonderland and Shakespeare's Sonnets, the original works of SDB's artistic director Javier Velasco. She received her dance training at the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, with summers at American Ballet Theatre, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, The Chautauqua Institution, and the Joffrey Midwest Workshop. Outside of the dance studio, Anna dedicates her time to yoga, dormitory socializing, and her wonderfully supportive boyfriend.
